thank the Lord for the light

Knowing ourselves makes us able to determine our purpose here on earth. As Blessed Maria Domenica says, we have to thank the Lord for this light he gives us.

I love this quote from Kahlil Gibran. I am reminded that true beauty is really goodness in the heart and not something external.

The photo I used here is a yellow gold mum. I love how the early morning light created a luminous effect.

the purpose of light

One of my favorite authors is Paulo Coelho. He has a way of putting things into words that reveal such a deep understanding of mankind. He has written so many books, the most widely read is, The Alchemist, which has been translated into 80 languages.

This quote that I used here is from his book, The Witch of Portobello. I'd like to  interpret it as referring to our talents and gifts which we should share to the world. We are not supposed to hide them because they can serve as light or inspiration to others.

This is very similar to what is said in Matthew 5:16, "Let your light so shine before men, they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

Light Up the Sky

I think that this verse from Matthew 5:15 fits exactly this photo of a lamp post that I took one sunset day. The setting sun and the lamp seem to light up the sky together. Which one is lighting which?

Actually, the lamp was not yet lighted when I took this photo. However, I just love the way that it seems to light up the sky.

Begin Your Life

I find that this quote is so motivating.

Sometimes we are so full of doubts and fears that we fail to begin to live!

I took this photo from our backyard. Our backyard faces west and the sunset that afternoon was simply unbelievably beautiful!

A Bud and a Prayer

When I saw on the computer screen this photo that I took of this flower, something inside me whispered a prayer. I was simply struck by it's gracefulness and beauty. I love the progression of the buds as they opened up.
