the purpose of light

One of my favorite authors is Paulo Coelho. He has a way of putting things into words that reveal such a deep understanding of mankind. He has written so many books, the most widely read is, The Alchemist, which has been translated into 80 languages.

This quote that I used here is from his book, The Witch of Portobello. I'd like to  interpret it as referring to our talents and gifts which we should share to the world. We are not supposed to hide them because they can serve as light or inspiration to others.

This is very similar to what is said in Matthew 5:16, "Let your light so shine before men, they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

The photo is a streetlamp in a resort, partly hidden by a tree.

Dance like nobody's watching

I like the exuberance of these lines from William W. Purkey. They are so full of energy and lightness. When I read them, I felt like dancing and singing myself!

The photo is an orange mum that looks like it's a ballerina having the time of her life. I processed it with gradients to give it a dreamy effect.

Seedlings of God

I like how Russell M. Nelson described us - "seedlings of God." It shows us that we are really part of God. So there is really something Godly in all of us and we should not forget this. Anytime we feel bad, we just need to remember this and everything will be fine. Isn't that amazing?

The photo is the bud of the powder puff flower.  I love this plant because it flowers almost non-stop.

The Glory of God

I think this photo and Psalm 19, go together very well. It really looks like the heavens are declaring the glory of God.

I took this sunset photo from the plane window as we were on our way to Iloilo City here in the Philippines. I love the way the sun's rays skipped over the sea of clouds.

Faith and Your Soul

I like the way Dwight L. Moody described the relationship between faith and soul. I especially like the line... "...a lot of faith will bring heaven to your soul."

The photo shows a bunch of wild daisies.
