I like what Erma Bombeck said in this quote. However, I would like to add that we should not only use everything that was given to us, but we should also multiply it several times so we can share with others more.

the purpose of light

One of my favorite authors is Paulo Coelho. He has a way of putting things into words that reveal such a deep understanding of mankind. He has written so many books, the most widely read is, The Alchemist, which has been translated into 80 languages.

This quote that I used here is from his book, The Witch of Portobello. I'd like to  interpret it as referring to our talents and gifts which we should share to the world. We are not supposed to hide them because they can serve as light or inspiration to others.

This is very similar to what is said in Matthew 5:16, "Let your light so shine before men, they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."
