believe and understand

This quote from St. Augustine makes us see the real relationship between understanding and believing. Usually we have it the other way around - that is we try to understand first before believing. But St. Augustine reminds us that we have to believe first so that we will understand.

The photo is a wild plant that appears in my garden every time there is enough moisture all day. Sorry I don't know its scientific name. We call it "pancit-pancitan".
