If I have not love

Love is really the greatest of all as this verse from 1Corinthians tells us. Actually, the whole verse 13 in 1Corinthians speaks about love and ends saying that among faith, hope and love, love is the greatest.

The photo is a very small flower from a bamboo-like plant in my garden. Sorry, I don't know the name.

the word of God

I find this verse from Isaiah very comforting and reassuring. If you are told that "...the word of God will stand forever", won't you feel the same too?

The bright yellow orchids and the green background somehow fit this verse nicely. Don't you agree?

Felt with the heart

This quote is a reiteration of the other more familiar quote from "The Little Prince;" "It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye." I am going to make a photoquote of this at another time.

I just created this card directly by using Photoshop tools.

See with joyful eyes

This quote from Jonathan Lockwood Huie reminds us that our perception of things depends a lot on how we look at them. So something can be be beautiful to us but can be ugly to another. I have several personal experiences that proves this is true.

For example, I remember a movie that I watched with a friend after I successfully finished defending my Master's thesis. At another time, we would have found the movie corny and boring, but at the time we watched it, we were just so happy and relieved that we laughed heartily and sometimes hysterically throughout the whole show.

I'm sorry I don't know the name of this flower. It looks like a kind of wild daisy. I just found it on the roadside. When I took the shot, I forgot to change my settings after coming from an indoor shoot. So naturally, the shot came out overexposed. However, when I looked at it in the computer, I thought it looked like a washed out painting, so instead of deleting it, I used it as background for this quote.

Priceless lesson

I find this quote about lessons so true. We really can learn something from everyone we encounter, be they the vendor on the street, your seatmate on the bus or your professor in the classroom. We simply have to learn to pay attention because if we don't, we might miss the lesson.

I found these slippers half buried on the sand of Boracay and I could not resist taking a shot. The owners must have gone for a swim and made sure that their slippers will not be easily washed off by the waves.

Be joyful in hope

This verse from Romans 12:12 is a very good reminder for us to never lose hope and patience and of course to never stop praying. Sometimes, we tend to give up hope at the moment when our prayers are about to be answered. We should never lose hope, therefore.

The photo is a flower called "angel's trumpet" or Brugmansia.

Stick to it

I really admire Helen Keller. Despite her loss of her sense of sight, she has remained upbeat and inspiring throughout her life.

Yes, we sometimes don't stick long enough to what we want or what we do such that we fail to succeed. We should really hold on and stick to it long enough especially if our heart tells us to go on.

I created this poster card by using Photoshop. I am beginning to discover the many tools of PS.

Seedlings of God

I like how Russell M. Nelson described us - "seedlings of God." It shows us that we are really part of God. So there is really something Godly in all of us and we should not forget this. Anytime we feel bad, we just need to remember this and everything will be fine. Isn't that amazing?

The photo is the bud of the powder puff flower.  I love this plant because it flowers almost non-stop.

The Glory of God

I think this photo and Psalm 19, go together very well. It really looks like the heavens are declaring the glory of God.

I took this sunset photo from the plane window as we were on our way to Iloilo City here in the Philippines. I love the way the sun's rays skipped over the sea of clouds.

Believe in yourself

Christian D. Larson's quote is so empowering and so true. We really have to start believing in ourselves for if we don't, who is going to believe in us?

Oftentimes, we are so filled with fear of things external to us. We need to look deeper inside us and discover our true worth. As Larson said, "there is something inside you greater than any obstacle." So we just to learn to believe. However, we should not forget to put our trust in God.

The photo is a flamingo lily. This flower is so simple, yet elegant and graceful, so I tend to use it often in my photoquotes and cards.

The dangers of a mask

This quote from Patrick Rothfuss is a good reminder for us to be true to ourselves and to others. If we always pretend and use a mask, then there is the danger of being unable to discern which is true or not.

The photo is a mask that I used for a costume party.

Irish blessing

I love the happy and beautiful feel of this Irish blessing. This makes me smile as I think of flowers, songbirds, rainbows, and all the beautiful things around.

The photo is a scene from the garden of the Thunderbird Resort here in the Philippines. There is a golf course below the garden and in the distance are the hills of Rizal. It's really a beautiful place!

Praise the Lord

There is so much beauty around us! I can't help but wonder at the beauty and magnificence of God's creations. This verse from Psalm 34 says it all for me as I give thanks to God for everything including my own humble existence.

The photo is a sunset scene in Zambales, Philippines. I converted it into a digital painting by using paint daubs.

living is not enough

Thanks Hans Christian Andersen for this beautiful quote! I just love all your fairy tales as they have been part of my childhood lessons, dreams, and fantasies!

Harmony in autumn

Autumn is one of my favorite seasons, the other is spring. I just love the yellow-gold-orange-red colors of autumn. Furthermore, I love the nippy air at this time of the year. This verse from Shelley expresses so well the mood of autumn.

Although we do not have autumn here in the Philippines, the leaves here also turn into the colors of autumn at the end of the summer season. This leaf that I took a photo of, came from a tree in our garden.

Smile

I like the way how Phyllis Diller defined what a smile is! Truly a smile helps a lot in so many ways. It not only helps you but also the other person. Moreover, it is also contagious. When you smile at somebody, he/she can't help but smile back, don't you agree?

Just looking at this Smiley while I am writing this, makes me smile too! Now I feel so much lighter even if I was tired earlier.

So let's smile! It's free and it's one of the best ways to improve our day!

The photo is simply "Smiley" on a balloon.

The Universe Stands on Tiptoe

This quote or something similar to it has been attributed to different authors. I choose to showcase here the one attributed to Constance Arnold. I find this as a very powerful and inspiring quote. Imagine how powerful this line is, "...the whole universe stands on tiptoe waiting to assist you in miraculous and amazing ways...!"

The photo is a sunrise over the mountains of Cordillera. The colors that morning were simply amazing!

Happiness from common things

I like this quote from Henry Ward Beecher. It makes us realize that happiness really depends on us. We have to enjoy and be thankful for what we have.

The photo is a silhouette of my daughter as we pretended that she is holding on to the setting sun.

My soul expands

"My soul expands in the worship of the creator" - this is also exactly how I feel every time I see the wonders of God's creation. Actually, I have a kind of commitment to myself that I will always try to show through my photography, how awesome everything is in this world. There is beauty everywhere from the smallest things to the grandest mountains.

The photo is a sunset that I took from the plane window as we were on our way to Iloilo City last April. You can see the sea of clouds both below and above the setting sun.

Give part of yourself away

This quote from Jim Stovall is another way of saying that if we want more then we also have to give more. Isn't that the way it should be?

The photo is a mini Anthurium or flamingo lily.

Ants are great teachers

Ants are truly great teachers!  This verse from the book of Proverbs says a lot.
I love watching them because I learn so much from their behavior. I actually wrote an article about how they form a bridge. In case you are interested about them, here is the link: Amazing-Ants

I found these ants walking along our wire clothesline. I spent an hour watching them and taking photos of course!

Adapt to change

This quote is the essence of Charles Darwin's theory of evolution. This has always been wrongly quoted and called as the "survival of the fittest." Actually, it's not the exactly the fittest, but rather the one that is "adaptable to change."

The photo is an apple and some leaves processed in layers in Photoshop.

Blueprints of achievements

It's unfortunate that the author of this inspiring quote is unknown. I so love how he/she talked about our dreams and visions as the "blueprints of our ultimate achievements".

The photo is an early morning shot of the marker rock and plants in Boracay's white beach.

Boracay is my favorite island here in the Philippines. If you want to know more about this island, I have written several hubs or articles about it in my HubPages site. Here is the link to one of them. You can get the link to the other articles from this. http://jill-of-alltrades.hubpages.com/hub/The-Best-Beach-in-the-Southeast-Asia-Side-of-the-World

You can change your life

This is another reminder to us about the importance of acting on our dream. Thanks to don Miguel Ruiz.

The background photo is a nature abstract done by painting with the camera. I wrote an article on how to do this technique in case you are interested. Here is the link: http://jill-of-alltrades.hubpages.com/hub/Nature-Abstract-in-Photography

Realm of love

So love truly changes  how we view things. Maybe this is how the saying about "rose-colored glasses" came about. Soren Kierkegaard just stated it in a more eloquent way.

The photo is a pink rose that is not fully opened.

God's love is awesome

This verse from John always gives me goosebumps! I am totally in awe of God's love! How can we not love Him in return?

Gaelic blessing

I love this Gaelic blessing and I would like to share this with all of you. I received this through an email sent by a friend.

Explore new opportunities

Just like the snail in the photo, we have to be explorers. We have to keep on "exploring for new opportunities" as what Yuri Milner said.

I took this photo of an exploring snail near the waterfalls of Hinulugang Taktak here in Antipolo City, Philippines.

Live out of your imagination

Stephen Covey said this so well. We usually tend to dwell on the past too much and too long. This is something we can no longer change. But we can always live out whatever we imagine ourselves to be. Isn't that more inspiring?

The photo shows oil droplets interacting with water. If you stir the oil droplets, they will simply create a new design. So I enjoy taking photos of these because you will never know what design will come out.

Friendship

This quoted from Muhmmad Ali is so true. Friendship is something that we really have to develop, nurture and treasure. We learn so much about many positive and even negative traits from our friends.

The photo is a new batch of puppies that our dog gave birth to.
