life is waiting for us

Orchids are always so beautiful no matter which angle you look at them. Somehow, I feel that they and the quote from Joseph Campbell, belong together.

The photo I used here a pink Dendrobium in full bloom. It reminds me of a life lived fully.

lead your life

I love this quote from Randy Pausch's "The Last Lecture". Well, he was a very inspiring person and his book is full of quotable quotes.

The photo is a yellow gold mum that looks so happy and full of life!

believe and understand

This quote from St. Augustine makes us see the real relationship between understanding and believing. Usually we have it the other way around - that is we try to understand first before believing. But St. Augustine reminds us that we have to believe first so that we will understand.

The photo is a wild plant that appears in my garden every time there is enough moisture all day. Sorry I don't know its scientific name. We call it "pancit-pancitan".

take a break

Well, I'm not sharing a quote today. This is just a poster card that you can post somewhere or send to someone who needs a break. Break times are usually associated with coffee times although I must admit I don't drink coffee anymore. I do take a break of course!

This is made of two photos that I layered in Photoshop.

what hope is

I love these lines from Emily Dickinson. They remind of a song. Well, it is not surprising of course since Miss Dickinson is a lyrical poet.

The photo is an Alstroemeria flower with the petals still intact, making it appear like a graceful dancer.

first you have to believe

I find that this quote from Mark Victor Hansen a powerful reminder.
Belief comes first! If we don't believe in ourselves, and we don't believe in what we are doing, how can we get results that we can be proud of?

Mark Victor Hansen is the partner of Jack Canfield in the famous "Chicken Soup" series.

The photo is the remains of an Alstroemeria flower after the petals have fallen off. I find than even the dying remains still has so much beauty and the way it looks somehow reminds me of the word "believe". That's why I partnered this with the quote.

value yourself

Valuing ourselves is a very important prerequisite to valuing other aspects of our life. Until we are able to do this, we cannot expect others to also value us or our time.

This clock photo was layered with texture in Photoshop.

the mysterious

I like the way Albert Einstein describe the mysterious as "the fundamental emotion which stands at the cradle of true art and true science." The mysterious always appeals to most people, myself included!

I love how this yellow flower appears to be fragile, yet mysterious, so I thought it fits this quote rather well.

standard of beauty

Absolutely! That's all I can say about this quote from John Kenneth Galbraith.

The photo is a set of colored pens that I distorted in Photoshop. Some may like what I did here and some will not like it at all. But as the quote says, "there is no absolute standard of beauty." So be it!

love is life

How simple yet so true is this quote from Leo Buscaglia.

So I coupled this quote with this photo of a simple yet so beautiful flower of the desert rose or Adenium obesum.

life is like a camera

I like this quote from an unknown author, comparing life to a camera. This is especially significant to me since I am a photography enthusiast. Actually one of the best lessons I have learned from photography is...focus. Since I started using my camera, I learned to focus not only on the picture I am making/taking, but also on many aspects in my life. For example, learning to focus has also improved my bowling.

This poster card is made entirely with Photoshop.

magic in enthusiasm

If this quote from Norman Vincent Peale does not make you smile and be enthusiastic, then I don't know what will. I find this very inspiring.

I also love the color and vibrant mood of this photo, and that's why I partnered this quote and photo together. Hope you enjoy it too!

limitless

All I can say about this quote from Lorii Myers is, "how true! how true!" We sometimes hold back on things because of our fears and lack of trust. If we can only put our trust in God then we can "become limitless" because God is of course limitless!

I'm sorry I don't yet know the name of this flower. I just found it in a public garden. However, I find that the way it grows encapsulates what "limitless" means. Don't you think so?

a garden forever

I find this quote Alfred Tennyson, so romantic. Well, he is indeed a lyric poet!
Just thinking of a garden forever makes me smile. I also think this garden of purple orchids is so perfect for this quote. Don't you agree?

remedy for love

Henry David Thoreau hit a bulls-eye when he said these words. There is really no remedy for love, if you want a remedy that is, "but to love more."

The photo is a pink mum drenched with raindrops.

Happy Valentine's Day

Just a simple greeting to all of you on this Happy Hearts Day

open your heart

Heart and mind are really connected. As Charles John Quarto said in this quote, "If you open your heart, love opens your mind."

The photo is a dark pink rose that I bought from a florist.

sunshine of my life

I love this song from Stevie Wonder. It's so upbeat and inspiring and it always makes me smile. Plus I love sunflowers and they always come to mind every time I hear the song.

The photo is a sunflower with some petals partly removed.

character of your mind

This thought has been expressed in so many ways by different authors. I choose to use the quote from Marcus Aurelius here. We are indeed formed by our thoughts and whatever have become habitual in our thoughts, then they will be expressed in our soul and our character.

The photo is the kite of a kiteboarder. It soars strong and proud against the sky.

listen to your heart

I find this quote from Ritu Ghatourey as a very timely reminder about how we spend our time. We really must take sometime to just simply "...listen to our heart, mind and body...," as they might be telling us something else. Often times, we just simply talk to our mind and rarely listen to our heart, soul, and body.

The photo is a sunset scene with a lone sailboat. Taken from my favorite island, Boracay.

embrace your blessings

Steve Maraboli sure knows  how to remind us to be true to ourselves. "Live your truth, express your love, share your enthusiasm,...embrace your blessings...." These are all so empowering and inspiring! Hopefully we take them to heart.

The photo is a lone coconut tree reaching up to the skies.

expressions of one reality

We are all united and as Osho said in this quote, "we are all different expressions of one reality. Somehow, this quote sounds very comforting to me.

The photo is a variety of golden mum. Each petal may be different but they are all connected and make one whole flower.

foundation for abundance

Eckhart Tolle's quote is a very good reminder for us that we really have a lot to be grateful for.

The photo is a newly opened mum that projects so much grace and happiness. It seems to be happy that it is finally in bloom!

thank the Lord for the light

Knowing ourselves makes us able to determine our purpose here on earth. As Blessed Maria Domenica says, we have to thank the Lord for this light he gives us.

The photo is a lampost and the dying light of sunset viewed from a resort here in the Philippines.

Circle of stories

The circle of life is a "circle of stories" and we are all joined together, as what Linda Joy Myers says here.

The photo is a beach scene which I converted into a "small world" in photoshop.

God loves and saves

What Dillon Burroughs says in this quote may be hard to believe but it really is true. "Our salvation depends completely upon our Savior."

The photo is a beach scene from my hometown.

Perseverance and success

Well, this is surely a very logical and wise reminder from Joseph Addison. Let us take it to heart.

This photo of ants diligently carrying home a treasure surely captures what this quote says.

soul and surrender

This words from St. John of the Cross is so true as there is no such thing as a half surrender or a half anything with God. If we surrender, we surrender completely; if we trust we trust completely.

The photo is a purple Dendrobium orchid.

light within

Light that shines from within radiates out and can make anybody beautiful.

The photo is an Oxalis flower.
