What is Success

We usually envision success as one big event. I therefore like what Robert Collier wrote here. That success is "the sum of small efforts, repeated day in day out." This also resonates with what I mentioned in a previous post about small things. This simply tells me that we can all be successful as long as we keep on working at it. Don't you agree?

I used this photo of these small flowers because alone, they usually are hardly noticed, but together, they really make an attractive display.

Do Something Different

This quote from an unknown author is a kind of wake-up call for me.

We usually expect something different from God or from our government, yet we persist in doing exactly the same thing. So how indeed can we expect to get something new if we just keep on doing the same old thing? So I would like to say "thank you" to this author for this very appropriate reminder.

I used as background this photo of a single bud which emerged from the rest of the plant. It seems to be doing something different from the rest of the plant.

Simplicity and Art

I love this quote from Walt Whitman about art. I tend to agree with this as I usually find that I am most attracted to art that is simple. Thus I love using negative space and minimalism in my photography as exemplified in the photo I used for this quote. 

Little Things

I love this quote about little things from Robert Brault. I think this is so true.

We sometimes or should I say often times, we  tend to ignore or are unaware about/of the little things. So I think this quote is a good reminder for us about the importance of little things.

I also wrote a line about little things after I have been teaching "Cell Biology" for sometime. I just came to love everything about the cells, so I was inspired to write this line - "God put life in a little cell to remind us that big things come from little ones." One of these days, I will share the card I made of this line.

By the way, this is a photo of a grass and its flowers. You know how small grasses are, so I thought it fits this quote very well. 

Color your life

I just love the positivity of this quote. It right away made me think of several of my color photos. However, I decided to use this photo of oil pastels to show that we can indeed select a different color. Isn't it a cool idea? 

Courage to Attempt

Van Gogh is certainly somebody who was never afraid to attempt something. I like this quote from him. 

I enjoyed watching these two kids trying to go up this rock. They did not show any fear at all. That's why I partnered this quote and photo.

My Soul Waits in Silence

This photo that I have taken one early morning while we were in Zambales somehow seems to fit perfectly this quote from Psalm 62:1,5. Don't you think so? 

It was so calm that day and it seems that the fisherman and I, were the only ones awake at that time. Is this man communing with God? or with the fish? or both?
