Faith and Non-violence

I like the way Mahatma Gandhi expressed the importance of faith in non-violence.

If we espouse non-violence, we indeed need to have a double faith... faith in God and faith in man.

We really need faith to be able to accomplish things. We cannot just rely on ourselves alone or also in God alone. We have to do our part and God will take care of the rest.

This quote from Mahatma Gandhi is so simple yet so profound. He is able to express the essence of life in just a few words.

Mahatma Gandhi is really so wise. It's good to be reminded that it is "the attempt to reach one's goal" that gives glory and not the reaching of the goal.

Prayer is a longing of the soul

I love how Mahatma Gandhi described prayer. Every time I see a sunset or a beautiful creation of God, I always say a prayer of thanks and I feel that Gandhi is right about the prayer being "a longing of the soul."

Purify your thoughts

Mahatma Gandhi is so wise. We indeed must aim for "complete harmony of thought and word and dead." If there is no harmony, then we will always be under stress. We will always be unhappy.
