Rain and dew always remind me of freshness, of newness. So I can understand the imagery used in this quote from Deuteronomy about the teachings of the Lord "falling like rain" "like showers on new grass".

Another quote about "trust", from Jerry Bridges. He is really into building "trust" and he does talk sense to me. Yes, God's ways are really beyond our understanding, so just have to learn to put our trust in Him!

criticism should be gentle

Frank Howard Clark shows his understanding and love for people in this quote. Criticism is something that should "nourish a man's growth" and not destroy "his roots." I like best the line, it should be gentle like rain.

Forgiveness

Sometimes we are too strict with ourselves. We can be our worst critic and we can become so unforgiving of our mistakes. However, as Dr. Dyer says in this quote, "forgiveness is the most powerful thing you can do to yourself." If we forgive ourselves and also others, then we can move on.
